Should You Schedule Instagram Posts?
As we say all the time, the social media landscape is constantly changing. Instagram continually releases new updates and tools to compete with other social platforms. Late last year, Instagram rolled out the ability to schedule posts and Reels in the mobile app.
Scheduling posts can be beneficial for business owners because it can save you time and keep you organized. In order to access this tool, your Instagram profile must be set to a business or creator account.
To schedule a post or Reel:
Select a photo or video and add a caption, tag, location, etc.
Tap “Advanced Settings”
Schedule a date and time up to 75 days in advance
Press “Set Time”
Tap the back button
Press “Schedule”
On your profile page in the upper righthand corner, press the three lines and check the “Scheduled Content” tab to ensure the post is set correctly. (Another scheduling option is available via Meta Business when your Instagram and Facebook are linked.)
If you are going to schedule posts, a couple of things to keep in mind… While scheduling posts can be helpful, it’s important to continue to engage with your community. You never want to post and run. Also, don’t set it and forget it! Each day make sure that your content is still relevant and considerate of what’s happening in the world. You never want to appear tone-deaf.
Test it out! Schedule a couple of Instagram posts and see how much time it saves you.
