How To Prepare For an Influencer Shout-out About Your Company

In today’s world, no business can avoid the need for a strong social media presence. Marketing is no longer simply billboards and newspaper ads. Thanks to influencers, your business could receive an unexpected online shout-out at any moment. Due to the loyal followings that many social media influencers have on Instagram, Tiktok, and Youtube, to name a few platforms, a positive comment about your business on their page could be fantastic brand exposure. 

You may be thinking, my company is far too small or unknown for an influencer to talk about it online. However, this is exactly what happened to a small, local company earlier this month. Unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize off of this publicity to the fullest, due to a lack of channels for people to locate their business. 

If these potential new customers are unable to find your business due to a lack of online presence, that positive exposure could be wasted potential. Everything in the world of social media moves extremely fast, and if you are not prepared for a spike in interest before it occurs, you will be left backpedaling and miss out on that opportunity for business growth. 

So, how can you prepare? Make sure you have business accounts set up on Instagram and Facebook. It is important that your username makes it clear who you are – meaning either the name of your business or a catchy title related to what you do. Additionally, you should take advantage of the bio space on your profile to write your business name, as well as a short description of what service you provide or the product you sell. This will quickly inform whoever is searching for your account whether or not they are in the right place. 

Having social media accounts set up in advance will also allow whoever is shouting out your company to tag your profile on their post. Doing this creates a direct line from the post for people to access your profile and discover more about your business!
