We Wear Many Hats
As social media managers, answering the all too familiar question “So what do you do?” is a bit more complicated than you might expect. What do we do? What don’t we do?
Social media managers are planners, creators, researchers, writers, designers, editors, customer service reps, branding consultants, photographers, and so much more! A successful social media manager’s toolbox should include a portable charger, a good data plan, and a large hat rack to store all the hats we change into throughout the day to perform our job and serve our clients.
We take on all these roles because they are all vital components of managing our client’s social media accounts with the diligence and respect they deserve. Social media managers are constantly multitasking, learning the current trends, and producing the best content and on-brand messaging for our amazing clients.
Unfortunately, people can only see us wearing one hat at a time even though we are donning many. And we are always prepared to switch hats at any given moment.
So if you have a social media manager, you can best support them by keeping this in mind. The content we create is a labor of love, and we are thankful when we feel appreciated and supported.
