For YOU

Weekend Reads

December 3, 2012

We had the most relaxing weekend! Now that Diego has a short break from soccer and the birthday party invitations have slowed down, Jose and I had a blissful moment of reading magazines and newspapers on Saturday morning. Yes, PRINT! My phone was charging upstairs and I kept wanting to use it to take notes but instead I creased pages, used bookmarks and ripped articles out to share with you today. How old fashioned! Ha! The boys played around us, independently and well-behaved. It doesn’t happen often!

Here is what I thought you might find interesting:

From Fortune Magazine (Jose passes on material he knows I would enjoy!): Whole Foods is about to get more affordable.

The New York Times: A Heisman Trophy contender and Texas A&M student who still needs incentives to stay on track. Jose and I disagree.

New York Times Magazine: Face Time. Photographs of makeup application on the subway! Where’s the strangest place you have glossed up?

New York Times: It’s Not All Bad to Be Bored. Unplug and plan nothing for your children!

Elle Magazine (December 2012) If you have the magazine (they haven’t released on the web) read, “A Lit Snob’s Confession” by Lizzy Goodman. And then read Twilight or Fifty Shades of Grey guilt free!

Did you read anything interesting this weekend? I’m always up for a good read! Please share! Have a great week everyone!

Google image: I want to tell you that I looked as hot as Marilyn Monroe reading the paper but, um, no.

I agree it is always nice to have a day of relaxation. Yes I read, if you count reading cookbooks. Haha. Lately I’ve been into baking; lasagna, roasted green beans, vegan chocolate chip cookies, kale chips… Since I took a break from running I found this to be my stress reliever :). I just went to whole foods over the weekend and when it came to paying oh boy!! So worth it though and glad to hear it will get more affordable. The higher demand for healthier food brings down prices which is always great.
