Six years ago, while living in Japan, we were very fortunate to travel throughout Asia and Australia with our oldest son. My first baby visited 8 countries before he was three years-old! Having said that, you can just imagine the interesting spaces I have had the pleasure of changing his messy diapers! Airplanes, baby-unfriendly restaurants and even Tokyo Disney restrooms were places I never imagined carrying a designer handbag full of baby essentials. Nevertheless, having had baby #2 and baby #3 at 18 months apart here in the USA, when it came down to changing their diapers, it really put things in perspective for me! I thought I had done it all…

Changing a diaper in a hip (that means no “family room”) rooftop restaurant in the middle of Sydney doesn’t compare to changing my two year old in a baby-friendly bathroom in New Jersey WHILE HOLDING my 6 month-old baby in a carrier. Although I had all that any mother of three would need to make baby-changing easy, holding down a toddler and helping him avoid the temptation from touching anything questionable while his baby brother literally hung around my neck, is back-breaking work! ja! Thankfully, before things ever got more difficult, I knew my babies (and I!) were always protected by Huggies.

You too can have long-lasting protection with Huggies Snug & Dry diapers no matter where your next adventure takes you. If your next trip will be to Thailand or the next town over, the new SureFit design Huggies have up to 12 hours of leakage protection, a closer-to-body fit to move with your baby’s twits and turns and a softer outer cover…all perfect for your own unforgettable moments.

Share your most memorable adventure with us in the comments below or explain why being “snug and fit” for better protection is important to you for a chance to win a $50 Babies R Us gift card!! You know I LOVE a good story! Can’t wait to hear yours.

Snug and dry is very important because my youngest pees a lot overnight. Leak protection is important to make sure he doesn’t wake up

I don’t know how many times I have been caught unprepared when I just went out for a minute with the baby and his cheap diaper leaked!

My daughter’s diapers always explode. I definitely need a better fit.

Hola Betty! I can totally relate to your wonderful experiences. We’re headed to India soon with the twins (now 2 1/2) and they’re not potty trained yet – whhaa! I’m looking forward to all the fun places I will get to change the girls – back of a rickshaw?, roadside with a herd of cows watching?, and don’t forget the 18 hour flight there! Oh what fun – I will definitely try out the Snug & Dry 🙂

Its important so that the diaper doesnt explode on the bar during a wine tasting event.

The most memorable diaper story would be the day the nurse asked my husband to change the diaper of our newborn baby girl. It was so funny and at the same time cute because he had no idea where to start or what to do with the diaper. Its very important for a diaper to be snug and fit because no one likes leaks and we want our little angels to be as comfortable as possible.

Being snug and fit is important for me so that my son doesn’t have any unexpected accidents. This is especially important when we’re on the go and away from being able to change him quickly and easily.

One funny story was when I went out and forgot to bring along diapers for my daughter. I happened to be in an office building that had a doctor’s office in it, and I went in and asked a nurse if she could spare a diaper. Luckily she had diapers, although they were a size too small. It was better than no diaper at all! I never forgot to pack diapers after that.

My son’s diaper leaked out the other day when we were on a long car trip. I felt so bad for him.

  • Reply Katie K June 18, 2013 at 5:56 pm

Nothing funny…just major blowouts that I’m sure all parents can relate to. Snug and fit is perfect to help prevent those not so fun times!

I sat my son on his toybox because he had a blowout in his crib. I had changed him and thought he was good but apparently the blowout wasn’t done. I ended up having to clean off the top of the toybox.

I’ve had so many diaper changes where I probably shouldn’t have been changing a baby’s diaper. The one that pops in my head right now was at the Santa Barbara zoo. This was at a time where my little guy was scared of public restrooms (I swear I didn’t time this with my post lol) so there was no way to change him in the bathrooms. Instead we just found a patch of grass that seemed empty-ish and changed him there. People probably looked at us like we were so strange. Oh the things you do and wish you never did…

ACK I had my little guy at the mall with my Mom when he broke a week long dry spell by pooping all over me.. we had to change him on a store shopping bag and buy a sleeper there! snug and fit is important to avoid warderobe malfunctions like that!

  • Reply Sara Floyd June 18, 2013 at 11:40 pm

The snug and fit diapers are important because I don’t like when it leaks all over clothes!

My nephew made a ‘memory’ at my mother’s house once…crawled across the kitchen floor and left a stickey brown trail behind him…needless to say he was wearing some generic brand diaper.Thankfully when my daughter came along we had several Huggies favorites and that never happened to her!

I had a diaper disaster at the beach once. A snugger fitting diaper would have made a big difference – what a mess!

  • Reply Tari Lawson June 19, 2013 at 10:19 am

We were headed to the beach with our baby. He was snug in his car seat for the multiple hour trip. About 3/4 of the way there, we smelled something and pulled into a rest stop to change the diaper. Unfortunately my son had a “blow out”. His bargain diaper leaked and we had poop everywhere, on his skin, clothes and car seat. It was a disaster. I changed him and we put a towel down in the car seat until we got to our destination then had to take the seat apart and wash it along with the clothing. Ick!

  • Reply Kim H June 19, 2013 at 11:08 am

I have had many times when the kids diapers wouldn’t fir right and we would be out somewhere (baby wearing shorts) and their number two (not runny) would just go directly out the diaper…..OMG that was horrible

It’s important because I don’t want to worry about leaks of any kind but I also want a diaper that is comfortable for my baby also. This makes for less trips to change diapers during the middle of the night

  • Reply April Brenay June 19, 2013 at 12:01 pm

At my husband’s birthday party our sons diaper exploded, so bad that it messed up his diaper bag and his change of clothes, so he had to wear just a diaper and tshirt and my husbands jacket. We laugh about it now!

  • Reply McKim June 19, 2013 at 1:33 pm

When I was little I wore the old cloth diapers (think 1958)! In every picture I have of myself when I was little my diaper was hanging down below my little dress or skirt.

Snug Fit is the perfect fit for my petite daughter. She is 18 months old. She likes to diaper dash. She runs around naked saying pee-pee.

  • Reply Patricia June 20, 2013 at 4:22 pm

So I love this brand of diapers. The only ones that hold up. Being a new mom and learning…the hard way. I forgot to pack an extra set of clothes. I took my baby in for her two week checkup and had a blow out. It was bad. The only thing that I could wrap her was her blanket. The worst part it was in the middle of winter and snowing that day. I felt horrible and helpless.

Oh our funny story was when we put a swim diaper on Carter instead of a regular diaper one time! We were wondering why he was soaked after dinner and the whole highchair was soaking wet! Then we realized it was a swim diaper! UGH…we had to laugh! Snug and fit is so important…I know one time we went to the zoo…were using a cheaper diaper…and went thru all of them and had to leave early cause they just leaked everywhere! Snug and fit is very important!

My funniest diaper change was in the hospital with my first son. I had never changed a baby before and I put the diaper on him backwards. My husband, the oldest of 7 kids, had to show me how to do it.

An adventure in diapers was a day that made the bathroom at the restaurant, that stank horrible, I went to the truck by the diaper bag and oh surprise, was not, we forget it at home. Then go to the toilet and remove diaper occurred to me, leave it clean clean and return to the table. I told my husband, hurry up, that does not bring diaper, eat it more fast as possible to go to the store more close to buy a package. Suddenly, dump and was swimming in a pool of water… OMG they had done pee. OMG, take the table napkins, clean very fast as I could and I got up immediately table with her in the car to wait for my husband to pay to go. The only thing I hope is that other diners don’t have noticed!

The most memorable diaper story for me is whenever one or both tabs on my kid’s diapers would become undone and they would walk around with their pants drooping. This is why a snug and fit diaper is important, for their comfort and so they don’t have drooping pants.

  • Reply Steffi S June 21, 2013 at 6:21 pm

Being snug and fit is so important because clothes are so expensive. Blowouts always seem to stain clothes.

  • Reply Lisa E June 21, 2013 at 9:37 pm

it’s important because blow-outs are NOT fun – especially when the sitter just puts the clothes in a bag and they sit all day. Disgusting.

My funny story. One night I was very sleepy changing my baby’s diaper that I didn’t realized I had put him two diapers until the morning

  • Reply Candice N June 23, 2013 at 10:54 pm

I had to change my son standing up several times. I got very good at the “velcro first and then pull up” diaper change! Leak proof means my baby stays dry and clean!

  • Reply Ashley C June 24, 2013 at 10:17 am

Funniest diaper story is the first time we tried swim diapers, I had no idea they aren’t absorbent so I just put it on my son before we headed to the lake. He was soaked (and so was his car seat) by the time we got there. Needless to say, I learned my lesson!

Snug and fit is so important especially when baby’s stomach is not too happy and it tends to get EVERYWHERE!

  • Reply Randi S June 24, 2013 at 7:51 pm

My son was exclusively breastfeed as a baby…which means hard to contain poos…so we have had many crazy poop stories…perhaps my son’s favorite to hear about is the time he was sitting on daddy’s lap, just a few months old- they were having a great time playing games…then the next thing we knew…poop all over Daddy!!! He’s heard the story before, and cannot wait until baby sister is here to poop on Daddy too!!

We were hiking in Yosemite, with hubby wearing our baby in a carrier and her diaper exploded all over him! I had spare clothes for her, but he had to hike back to the car topless. Snug and Fit would’ve saved us from that “fun” experience!

We live close to the border with Mexico and one day while in vacation, we decided to go and hike up a mountain. Well, my twins both decided it was that time of day to do their business right when we were in the middle of nothing!! I had to change their diaper while they were standing. I was happy I didn’t forget to carry diapers and wipes.
