When summer starts, I’m like, “Woooo whoooo!” Two seconds later: “What am I going to do with the boys?!?!?”
I’ve written a couple of posts throughout the years that focus on at-home summer ideas for your kiddies (remember Escuelita at Home and In Your Own Backyard?). My boys only do a couple of half-day camps throughout the summer so they end up spending the majority of their time at home. I’m always looking for new ideas. This time, Hubby wins for finding and ordering Tinker Crate, Koala Crate and Kiwi Crate for the boys. He was so busy introducing the subcription boxes over Father’s Day, I only captured the top image of the four of them together!
Every crate includes a creative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) project, blueprints with step-by-step instructions, and a magazine with additional experiments and activities). Kids also have access to online tutorials to help them with their projects.
The three boys felt so accomplished when they completed their projects and are wondering when their next package will arrive!
The crates inspire kids to:
- See themselves as makers and creators
- Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Gain the confidence to experiment, tinker, and try
- Get excited about science and engineering
- Approach learning with creativity and curiosity
There’s a crate for every age group. Hubby made sure to get one for the three different ages in our household. Check out The Kiwi Crate Family to compare the four different crates available. Let me know if you decide to try!
