The trench coat is a raincoat made of waterproof heavy-duty cotton fabric. It was originally double-breasted with 10 front buttons, wide lapels, a storm flap and pockets that button-close. The coat is usually belted at the waist, it also has straps around the wrists that buckle up and shoulder straps that button-close. Those were all functional features in a military scene, where this fashion piece originated from.
The classic color of a trench coat is khaki so I’ll start with the original Burberry Trench coat. It is said that the Burberry founder, Thomas Burberry, designed the original military trench coat.
Burberry has a fantastic trench coat collection on their website and I honestly would love more than one. Take a look for yourself over at Burberry!
Here are some fabulous pieces that are much more affordable and from quality brands. Starting with the classic and following with trendy pieces like the colorblock, bright neons, and leather details.
