In the last couple of days Diego has been trying to sing a song for me. He’s been whispering a little song under his breath and every time I would ask him about it he would become shy and run away. This morning he told me in the kitchen, in English so my mother wouldn’t understand, that he had a Mother’s Day song he wanted to sing to me in private. I told him I couldn’t wait to hear it and understood he wanted to sing it to me alone so I suggested he sing it to me in the car.
Once we pulled out of the garage he started with, “Her eyes, her eyes make the stars seem like they’re not shining.” Wow I was impressed! We don’t listen to a lot of pop music in the car or house so I thought it was interesting that he was singing to Bruno Mars. As he continued to sing more of Just The Way You Are by the time he belted, “you’re so amazing…” I was holding back tears! He said, “Mrs. Stroman said you would have tears of joy. I’m going to sing the whole song to you on Mother’s Day”. He already made me feel beautiful and special. Thank you Mrs. Stroman!
