Don’t Wish the Time Away

I can’t believe we are wrapping up the school year already! Today, Diego and his Kindergarten had a Writer’s Workshop Celebration (be still my heart!). Yes, I cried. I was an emotional mess listening to Diego read the book he wrote and illustrated. When the class all got up to sing a few songs for all the parents, I was a wreck.

Potty Training Tips From The Experts

Pullups logo (1)

We just got back from an amazing trip to Aruba! Unfortunately, because we were not on any schedule, Santi’s potty training was put on hold for a whole week. Although it set us all back a bit, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Right before we left I was invited to attend a Pull-Ups teleconference with two potty training experts, Dr. Alberto Andres Cotton and parenting adviser, Jeannette Kaplun. They definitely had the answers to many of my questions and offered a lot of tips for successful potty training.

Soy Madrina del Baño for Pull-Ups!

santi pull ups
Guess who is ready to be potty trained?? That’s right, Santi! He is now 27 months old and although Diego was completely trained at this age, it is so true that every child is ready at different times. My mom has been asking me to train Santi since he turned two and I completely understand that for Mexican mothers, potty training usually happens very early, I have had my hands full with the 3 boys and Santi was not ready until now. He is now telling us when he needs to be changed and expresses interest when Diego goes to the potty. The timing couldn’t be any more perfect as I have been selected to be a Madrina del Baño for Pull-Ups!

Pull-Ups has just launched the Every Flush campaign and it’s very exciting! In your child’s life every milestone is celebrated and the steps to being fully potty trained should be praised and applauded as well!

Check out this celebratory and super-cute video below:

I’m on board with recognizing Santi’s potty training achievements, and I am well aware that this process might not be so easy (ooh boy, he is stubborn sometimes). I have liked the Pull-Ups Facebook page to receive daily tips and encouragement for me, to help me. If you are potty training as well, I advise you to like it too! I will also be visiting the Pull-Ups web page for more information (I already saw that there is an app to help us along!) and I’m bringing out all of Diego’s old potty books!

I can’t wait for Santi to try his new potty seat and his new Pull-Ups training calzoncitos. It will definitely be a family affair. The more cheers, the better! I’ll keep you posted!

Milestones

As my tiniest baby turns 4 weeks in a few days, my oldest baby is graduating preschool today. In my wildest dreams, I imagined Diego to be a cool kid that would speak two languages, that would love sports, that would be polite and friendly, that would be thoughtful and curious, that would love his family and by nature would just be a really nice kid. My dreams have come true and then some. [Read more...]
