Ghosted! Part 2

So much for waiting for the boys to be able to run out together to drop off little “BOO” bags to their neighborhood friends! Diego insisted we take on the tradition of “ghosting” his friends so on Saturday night because, “we CAN’T have ghosts in the attic!!!!!” guess who was up making little treat bags for his buddies? AND not everything I do I think, “I’ll blog this”. Therefore, I don’t have pictures of the inside of the bags (darn! I really wish you could see those whoopie cushions) but I can show you that I found these cute little things with the pictures of my boys already on them!!!

We picked out Halloween pencils and erasers, sticky spiders, colorful stickers, tattoos and lots of candy. I found this poem on Pinterest and also included it in the bags.

Diego had so much fun running to the houses, leaving the bags, ringing the doorbells, and running back to the car super fast. I think jumping into the back of our SUV was the best part for him! Santi and Jordi were probably wondering what the commotion was all about, as it was quite difficult for them to see over head rests from their car seats. Jose and I? We had a chance to be kids again. Brought us back to our “toilet papering” days in high school. Remember that? All healthy fun.

Are you all ready for Halloween? Did you do anything spooky this weekend? Would love to hear!

Ghosted!

I LOVE Halloween! But I have to confess, I didn’t always love Halloween. I don’t like scary movies, I don’t like to go to haunted houses, and I hated dressing up in costumes. Things have changed.

It’s much more fun with 3 little boys in the house. And on Wednesday the Halloween festivities started in our neighborhood with a ring to my doorbell late into the evening. Jose wasn’t home and I thought it was odd for someone to come over unannounced. Already with my heart pounding and my motherly instincts all set to grab the Swiffer stick to protect my brood, I peeked out the door window and saw little feet running into the neighbors’ bushes. No need to work myself up, just a ding-dong ditch. So I opened the door to find this little cute thing!

According to Google, we got Booed or Ghosted. Remember I grew up Mexican? Yes, this didn’t happen around 26th Street in the South Side of Chicago. If I’m wrong, then my brother and I were lame because this is the first time I see this. AND I LOVED IT! You know I’ll be doing this when all three boys can run out of my car (dressed in all black of course), sprint to the house a few doors down, ring the doorbell and get-the-heck-out-of-there as fast as they can. How fun!

Diego and Santi devoured the treats and got to play with the small and creepy Halloween toys included in the bag. We tried guessing whose little sneakers I saw and it kept us entertained for a bit! Diego and I read and re-read the poem. Here it is for you and I need to tell you, after a few embarrassing texts to the wrong people, we couldn’t figure out who the ghosts were until way past bedtime.

Do you follow this tradition or have had it done to you? I think it’s super clever for young kids.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Betty

Cowboy Party Theme

Yeehaw! Santi’s first birthday party was inspired by a cute little cowboy I found on Birthday Express. Sometimes it just takes one little thing to get you into the party mode and just like that you have a party theme.

I got to work right away and as always, Oriental Trading came through with the cowboy hats, bandanas, and small favor bags. I knew I would be able to get a cowboy themed piñata with Party City and found the right horse!
