When I started blogging 9 years ago from Japan, I wrote to connect with loved ones back home and to share teaching ideas with my former colleagues. The blog evolved after this dress post and I knew people enjoyed hearing about product and brand recommendations I had.

I always rush to tell my friends (and you!) when I find something I love. Today, I want to continue to talk to you about Beautycounter because I am truly head over heels and have been for some time. Beautycounter is devoted to educating consumers about harmful ingredients in our everyday self-care products. And I love their mission: To get safer products into the hands of everyone.

So I took almost all of my Beautycounter products to Mexico last week because 1) I trust the Protect All Over Sunscreen SPF 30 to be one of the safest in the industry (protected my boys from damaging sun rays without the unsafe, hormone disruptive chemicals) and 2) I knew their skin would be dry after hours in the sun and pool. I packed these 5 essential after-sun Beautycounter products and highly recommend them for your next trip.

Body Oil in Citrus Rosemary: I used this after my showers every evening. My skin was glistening for dinner!  This nourishing blend of 13 botanical oils leaves skin smooth, silky, and luminous.
Lip Conditioner: This lip conditioner went with me everywhere while in Mexico. If I don’t wear lipstick, my lips get and feel so dry. I also have a little dry patch on the side of my nose so this is super convenient, easy to carry and I can apply discreetly.
Cleansing Balm: Oh the many uses of the Cleansing Balm (a best seller)!! My number one recommendation, hands down! After a day in the sun and chlorine water, I lathered my boys in this after every shower in the evening from head to toe. I also used it for me as an overnight mask and my face felt incredible in the morning. And guess what? It’s also a makeup remover! Totally worth the price. This nice size tub goes a long way too.
Rejuvenating Eye Cream:  After a long flight the delicate skin around your eyes needs special attention. I use eye cream morning and night and sometimes even in the middle of the day. I wasn’t going to leave home without it.
Nourishing Rose Water Mist: Another great product after a long flight or a long day. Spritz this mist to awaken your complexion for an instant pick-me-up OR use it to set your makeup!

Enjoy your summer and safe travels!
