This party theme came together perfectly. Diego turned 7, he loves Real Madrid, believes Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players around and has a soccer ball attached to his foot at all times. Known as CR7, I was inspired by one of Ronaldo’s old logos and had a good blogger/designer friend help me make Diego’s own.
Once I saw the logo, I searched all over Pinterest for ideas. I love looks that are simple and elegant, even for kid parties. Using black and white was a no-brainer. I needed to add gold wherever I could and tried to stay away from green.
A touch of gold…
With 15 boys in attendance, I thought cake, cupcakes, M&Ms, and cookies were not enough. ha! I wanted to decorate with candy but brought little bags along so the young guests could take all their goodies, including these chocolates and gumballs, home.
When having a party outside your home, you can not always decorate as much as you would like. There are time restrictions and even rules on what can and can not go on the walls and room. I found reusable wall decals that I loved but would have gotten pricey if I ordered more than one. Boooo! Next time, I will look for smaller ones that I could print on my own.
We were able to print the water bottle labels and it became a family project! Hubby measured and cut and Diego and I peeled and stuck the labels to the bottles.
My sister gave me the great idea to use trophies as part of the favors. She was right about how much the boys would like them. I filled them up with black and white M&Ms and gave them as a second favor to take home. We overheard a boy say, “Do you think we will be able to take these home?” So funny! We also gave each boy a size 1 soccer ball to ease parent’s pain of indoor soccer games due to this horrible weather!
The teenagers at the soccer facility surprised me with their quick table setting skills! It gave me more time to take these pictures.
All suited up…
I made sure to spend a lot of time on the sidelines to watch Diego enjoy his party. I have enjoyed planning all seven birthdays, but I learned early on to stop and enjoy every moment with him. Happy 7th birthday, sweet love!
