Preparation and Inspiration

August 29, 2013

It’s been super busy around here! I’m really excited to share my latest Momagama post with you as soon as it is up but, for now, check out my Spanglish Baby review and giveaway. For MFBS, I am preparing more Fall fashion outfits scheduled to shoot next week (!!).

At home: Yesterday, I took the two older boys on the train and in to NYC to see their dad’s new office. He’s in a new building and we couldn’t be more impressed! Cool elevators, TV screens everywhere, old fashioned candy dispensers in the hallways and a lot of really nice people.

Jose and I also spent two hours last night putting all the Fall activities, parent/teacher conferences, and work related stuff on the calendar. This is what we came up with: 2 boys=3 schools, 3 sports, 1 piano class, 1 Little Gym class, birthday parties…it is going to be one busy back-to-school season. Omaiga. Poor Jordi, although I’m sure he’ll love the action of it all.

So, I found some really cool stuff to share with you this Thursday. Thanks to our friend Jay for advising me I take a second look at this video I passed up earlier on Facebook. I like this one with no commentary:

The New Jersey college students didn’t know where where the store clerk was! But they needed some stuff and made sure to show the camera their cash! jajaja! So refreshing to see good kids on the spotlight.

And this beautiful image I found of words that do not exist in the English language…

GOYA is my favorite. What’s yours?

Guys, I’m almost up to 400 likes on Facebook! If you haven’t had a chance to click on that little box, please do! It helps the bloggy business so much!! Don’t miss any MBFS images either!! Follow me on Instagram too! It’s a lot of fun! Thank you!

Don’t you just love the excitement in the kids when they visit their parent’s workplace. My daughter wanted to stop by my husband’s school. Both my kids were really excited. Another teacher asked my son what he wants to be when he grows up and he said he wants to be a teacher like his father. It’s in the blood I guess. Both my husband’s grandpa and my dad were also teachers. :-)…the video shows not all young adults are bad mannered. As parents we should teach our kids to do the right thing….some words is best to leave it the way it is written in a language because it gets lost in translation lol. I agree I like goya, but I also like ‘sobremesa’. It is so common in Mexico and we do it a lot at family get together–I believe this is the correct Spanish word. Sombremesa sounds Portuguese to me. Correct me if I’m wrong. ๐Ÿ˜‰

HI Liz! I know, some people were saying that why recognize these kids (in the video) when they SHOULD be doing something good. I feel that bad behavior gets way too much attention, so why not!

I didn’t catch the spelling mistake for “sobremesa” until you pointed it out!! I be it is a mistake!!!

I love that infographic Betty! We have a word too in Tagalog called “gigil” which is basically being so over-excited that you just want to squeeze something lol.
