So this was fun! I am often inspired by one thing for tablescape decor and this year it was Peeps! My Brooklyn BFF used them on her table last year and I thought, what a clever and inexpensive way to use those little guys. Peeps are too sweet for me but I always want to buy them when I see them because…adorable! I went on Pinterest for more ideas and lucky for me, our niece Lisa was visiting from college and willing to try a little DIY herself.
She filled mason jars with jelly beans, circled bunny Peeps on top, cut down tulips and protected their stems with wet paper towels. This had to be done right before setting the table because the tulips wouldn’t last too long. We also added bunnies on the rim of the champagne flutes. Some decided it would be fun to dunk bunny in the bubbles!
While we were looking for the mason jars in my kitchen cabinets, we found a huge candy jar. The boys had just finished decorating their Easter eggs and I think it was hubby who thought of putting the eggs in there. It was a last minute decision to include these eggs on the table and now I think I’ll do it every year! The boys were so proud to see their eggs on display.
Can we talk about the table runner? Smartest thing I ever bought. I was in the floral department of our local Kings and discovered a debi lilly design roll. It’s a rock paper printed table runner that is waterproof, washable and reusable! $3.99 !!! What?! Yes. And I only cut what I needed. Can’t wait to use the rest for other projects.
I did pick up new place mats from Crate and Barrel. I needed new ones for the spring and summer. While there…I couldn’t pass up the cutest chicks in the store. I’m so sorry to say these napkin rings are completely sold out but take a look at their sale HERE. You’ll be ready for next year!
Is this table nice for kids? Adults? Or both? Tell me what you think!
