The Best Workout Is Only Seven Minutes

sevenminuteworkout

This is what The New York Times is claiming! You have probably seen countless of workout lists on Pinterest. Apparently, this is the only one you need to ensure a good workout for the day and it’s just as good as a long run. Do each exercise for 30 seconds without stopping. Go hard! Only rest 10 seconds between each exercise. It looks easy but it isn’t. It should be an “uncomfortable” 7 minutes.

I’m going to try it today. Try it with me and let’s compare notes! ;-)

Update: It was fun! Not too bad!! Have someone keep time for you and to shout out the next exercise!

Cozy Up…Again

i want to wear this everyday

Sigh. The weather cooled off again. Diego had soccer today and I was freezing while I watched him play! This outfit should be my everyday outfit until it warms up.

The white Tory Burch tote is begging for summer to arrive. Red Keds will brighten up these gloomy days (and they can stay for summer). I love the French Connection over sized top (with lace!) as a great transition piece and the boyfriend jeans are perfect for running around with my boys.

Is it still cold by you?

A Mother’s Day Weekend

meandboys

Did you have a nice weekend? It was all about the mother status this weekend and I was spoiled! I did a little shopping, took Santi to a lovely birthday party and had a yummy brunch with the men in my life. The only thing that didn’t go so smoothly was the cake smash photo session. Booooo! The birthday boy was fine; the older boys were not having a great time and it was a little chilly for outdoor pictures. Cross your fingers for me! I really hope there are some good pics of Jordi!!

Anywho…I found these great links for you!! Happy viewing!

Off We Go

katespadecover

If Kate Spade is going somewhere this season, she’s definitely going to Mexico!

I was shopping on Saturday and while scanning the colorful bags out for the summer season, I spotted papel picado on a tote! I wasn’t surprised that the always fun and always bright Kate Spade would have a line that I want to call, completely inspired my Mexico’s colors and flavors. I came home to research the rest of the Off We Go line and picked out these pieces that would accentuate any Latina’s already vivid wardrobe. Take a look:

Tita Yoya’s Arroz Con Leche #VivaCaDairy

arrozconleche2

Disclosure: The following post is compensated and in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and the California Milk Advisory Board. The recipe, opinions and statements are my own.

What a nice Mother’s Day weekend it has been for me. My mother-in-law is visiting from Chicago and she spoils us with delicious food all the time. She has made Jose’s favorite dishes and I asked her to make my favorite dessert! I finally jotted down the arroz con leche recipe because Tita Yoya’s is the best! I’m not sure I can pull it off the way she does but I’ll make sure to always have Real California Milk to ensure a yummy outcome! Why? Because California produces more than 25 varieties and styles of Hispanic-style cheeses bearing the Real California Cheese seal, which certifies they are natural cheeses made in California exclusively from California milk. Here is our recipe:

Serves: 15
Ingredients:
1 cup of long grain rice (soaked for 2 hours)
4 cups of water
lemon or lime zest
1 cinnamon stick
4 cups of Real California Milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1 can of condensed milk
handful of raisins
ground cinnamon

In a large pot, add the water, rice, cinnamon stick and zest of lime (or lemon) over medium heat. Once the water is about to evaporate, add Real California Milk, and vanilla and stir, stir, stir over medium heat (about 20 minutes). It should always have a slow boil! With your stirring spoon, check for the rice to be soft, if so, add the condensed milk and stir, stir, stir for another 15-20 minutes (again, bring to a boil). Switch to a serving dish when you reach your desired consistency. I don’t like mine too dry! Sprinkle the raisins and ground cinnamon on top.

Look for the Seals

Didn’t I tell you I was a lucky girl? I miss Chicago and the abundance of Mexican food (especially my mother-in-law’s)! Nevertheless, I am so thrilled to have found delicious Real California Milk to help me duplicate the best recipes passed down to me!

Happy 1st Birthday Jordi!

jordicake

I can’t believe Baby Jordi is one today! He has turned our world upside down (totally in a good way, of course)! It’s busier, crazier and much louder around here! We wouldn’t have it any other way. Jordi is a happy boy, ready to defend himself from his big brothers and very loving. Diego and Santi think his wet kisses are gross but I think they are the sweetest.

We will be cutting a very small cake for Jordi today and he will be taking “smash cake” pictures this weekend! I didn’t do this for the older boys so we are all very excited to make this happen. Here are a few finds around the internet that I think are adorable.
