My Little Athlete-to-Be

October 17, 2013

HuggiesMFBS1This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Huggies. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Jordi is 17 months now! I can not believe how quickly time is passing. My three boys will definitely all be on the pitch soon and I’m sure my hubby has big dreams of them playing fútbol for a very long time!

Being the youngest must really be tough for Jordi though. We are constantly shuffling him from here to there (sometimes even waking him up from his nap to go pick up his brothers). Diego and Santi had a nice little schedule full of music, swimming and even gym classes at this age. I’m having difficulty taking Jordi to any classes because with three boys, I just simply don’t have the time! I wonder if he will be as interested in sports and activities regardless of his lack of participation right now?

My friends tell me not to worry. They say that this youngest sibling is always learning from his older brothers. Regardless, I can’t help but feel preoccupied about things like…will Jordi listen to directions when he is not with me!?!? Will he even stay somewhere without us?? I can only hope. I know I’m not the only mother who worries and we all have something on our minds regarding our little ones. Right?

Remember Zuleyka and Sebastian? She is so wonderfully open about what worries her–like ALL mothers! We can be quite funny with the things that keep us up at night. Please take a look!

What I don’t worry about at night is Jordi becoming wet during his 12 hour diaper stretch. Thank goodness for Huggies® Snug & Dry Diapers with NEW SureFit* Design. They provide up to 12 hours of leakage protection with a unique flexible waistband for a great all-around fit and a more conforming gap-free fit.

During the day, I use Huggies Natural Care® Wipes with NEW Triple Clean* Layers because they are gentle on Jordi’s skin and thick enough to clean the mess because of its strong, soft, absorbent layers.

I think I will always worry about even the most trivial things. When it comes to my boys, their comfort, safety and happiness matters the most to me. A big thank you to Huggies for starting us off right!

What a cutie pie! We use Huggies on my little buddy as well. In fact, I have a photo post for tomorrow with him playing with the giant Huggies box. For some reason my son (13 months) prefers to play with everyday items, rather than his toys!

One upside to your youngest: You are teaching him how to be adaptable! That is a great life-skill. So try not to worry too much. 🙂

Betty don’t worry about the activities for Jordi as he is still so little and trust me i’m sure he enjoys watching his brothers and their activities. My boys are older but in different age groups. My Enrique is 17 and has been in sports since grade school. When he was 10 he was into soccer and while he was at practice.. my Julian who was 3 at that time would bring his ball so i could practice with him on the sidelines. To him the practice was for both not just for his brother. lol

Hi Sandra! That happened with Santi! But Jordi will only cling to me when we go watch a game or practice and I just feel oh so guilty because I just haven’t been able to do much with just him. 🙁 As soon as he gives up one of his naps (yes, plural) then maybe! jajaja! Gracias!

I feel the ssme with only two kids! Some things are definitely easier said than done. I’ve learned to allow myself to feel the way I feel at the moment, but then to shrug it off and move forward. I hope this makes sense. xox

Activities…. Activities… Ido t know what I would without the help of my husband and mother in law, I run like a chicken without a head sometimes, thankfully when husband is home he takes in all my responsibilities as a Mom and I get to take a break, it’s only two now but Frankie is staring to show interest in soccer and basketball so soon next year I I know it will be a busier year.

I know they are still young Nancy. It’s just that with the age difference between Diego and Santi, I was able to do more. I can’t for Jordi, just yet. Hopefully soon!! xoxo

It is always going to be a good struggle. Even though mine are not teenagers, with what I have experienced so far they might as well be grown adults! :'(
I was a single mom with my oldest and if I wasn’t working I was always with him. I taught him Spanish, English and even Sign Language! He was read to all of the time and listened to a great variety of music.
With my youngest she was off the bottle before her 1st year and the sippy soon there after! I’ve also bothered plenty of her precious nap times and she was potty training near her 2nd bday 🙁
I feel a great deal of guilt but I have to brush it off me because it’s time for work, time for soccer, time for dinner, ect. Jordi will be great! Being the youngest myself, you really do learn for the older siblings and even friends! You may feel that you don’t spend enough time with him but he will be the one with you the most in later years 😉 I’m sure I call my parents more than enough on a daily basis to cover my 3 siblings and myself 😀

Thank you for putting things in perspective for me Leticia. You really are an amazing mother. We all do the best we can and you definitely show it. xoxo to you and yours.
