It was a great Wednesday night in NYC! AND my brother and cousin are in town! We drove to the city together although we all had different plans. Jose and I met our friends at Catch in the Meatpacking District and we were able to start off the night with an anniversary champagne toast before their arrival. While taking these pictures, I noticed that some contents in my clutch, are sentimental pieces that go all the way back to our wedding planning.
The turquoise leather notepad was a gift (along with my Jimmy Choo wedding shoes!) from our dear friend Monica, who now lives in Italy. The Mikimoto pen was a gift from a Panamanian neighbor we had in Tokyo! Dianick now lives in Miami and I miss both girls. There are even new gifts, like the Chanel lipgloss that my comadre, Martha, gave me for Christmas. I’m almost done with this second one!
I treasure these little pieces and only bring them out on special occasions, in special clutch bags. This black one is by Ted Baker and I discovered the designer while on a trip to London with Jose.
The whole night was a celebration. I’m so happy to have my brother here, to see old friends, and spend another wonderful year with my husband. The stories behind the sweet gifts and special wardrobe pieces, make nights out even more special; I’m creating new memories, while holding on to old ones.
