Long Weekend in San Francisco

March 18, 2014

Hubby and I literally ate and drank our way through San Francisco this weekend. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed all of these posts of delicious looking plates that I can assure were oh so tasty. I couldn’t post the dinners because the dark restaurants were not suitable for nice photography. I want to share with you all of the places we visited and highly recommend if you plan on taking a trip to SF in the near future. It was an unforgettable trip!

We chose San Francisco as our first trip without the kids for several reasons. First, we needed to go to a place where neither one of us had been to before. Second, a city with great “outskirts” (Sonoma, we will go back!) was important as well. Finally, everyone we spoke to about San Francisco raved about the food. We couldn’t wait to visit recommended places and our own discoveries. Please take a look…

New Asia for dim sum. Oh so yum in Chinatown.

The Buena Vista for Irish coffee. Very appropriate this weekend.

Trendy 25 Lusk with great friends who live in SF.

The Red Grape is known for best pizza in Sonoma. I don’t think there could be a better place!

Alexander Valley Vineyards for a tasting.

La Taqueria in the Mexican neighborhood, of course. We heart the Mission District.

Coffee at Blue Bottle Coffee. Worth the line and the wait.

Pastries at Acme Bread went so well with our cafe au laits.

More sweetness at Biscuit Bender.

Brunch at Colibri Mexican Bistro. Chilaquiles a must!

La Mar a Peruvian Cebicheria. So sorry I couldn’t take pics of the beautiful food!

Nightcap at the famous Redwood Room

Lunch at Gott’s Roadside. We couldn’t decide! Split fish tacos and a burger!

My dad won’t be mad…ice cream dessert at Humphry Slocombe.

Whew!! Don’t worry, we shopped and walked to burn this all off! I can’t wait to share more pics with you soon.

Have you ever been to San Francisco? What restaurant do you recommend?

Have a great week!

We choose San Francisco as our destination for our first trip without Daniela too! It’s was 2 years ago, and it is unforgettable. Me and Hubby keep saying we found our retirement home in Sonoma.

We lived in SF before we moved back to the East Coast/NJ! I sorely miss Acme bread! And great produce!

As for restaurants, there are soooo many great places to eat! We are hoping to visit in the fall (best time to visit wine country) or end of the summer!

Sounds like you had a great time!

For Deem Sum, one of my favorite place to dine with my family, in San Francisco, is Yank Sing. The Deem Sum is phenomenal! There are two locations, but we prefer visiting Yank Sing located by Spear St. San Francisco is, indeed, a great city to visit!
