Just Browsing

While in Baltimore last week I had a chance to slip away with Baby Jordi strapped to my chest for a cup of coffee and some peace and quiet. As I was walking back to the hotel I spotted one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie, and immediately thought, “What a bummer! I can’t try anything on!”. BUT, I have been feeling kind of zen lately, so I immediately reversed my thinking and saw an opportunity to just browse beautiful things…

…skim through gorgeous books, smell delicious candles, lift delicate plates…

and try on hats! Yes, with Baby Jordi strapped to my chest, my hot cup of coffee in hand and my iPhone snapping away. I had a great time.

We don’t always have to buy something or search desperately because there is great sale. Thanks to my walk with my baby I was simply inspired. I appreciate the hard work of the display designers, the store employees for keeping everything neat and tidy…have you ever stopped to do this? I had not in a LOOOOONG time. It was nice to just take it all in.

Betty

  1. How fun! Now I understand why my mommy loves to browse…to take it all in. Thanks for the insight xox

  2. I see French items and that makes me very happy!! :) I have that book Lunch in Paris….I might have to get that second book pictured. Great pics Betty!

  3. Before I had the kids I used to go “shopping” all the time and not buy anything. My husband wouldn’t understand why I would want to go into a store if I wasn’t going to buy anything, but I see it as inspiration. I like to look at beautiful things and get ideas. Now I couldn’t get blog posts out of it.

  4. I love Anthropologie too!! It’s so inspirational to just walk around inside that store. I am building a portfolio of designs to hopefully be able to sell something that Anthropoligie will have!! One of my big dreams!
