Hitting the Runway for a Cause

March 16, 2014

Me (wearing Nanette Lepore and Stella & Dot bracelet), my good friend Jyoti, Stella & Dot stylist, and Lori of Dressed by Lori, all posing for the cameras!

Last week, I was invited to the Family and Children’s Services Red Carpet fund raiser in my town. Lori asked if I would walk the runway and model a few of the dresses she carries in the boutique. Of course, I said yes! I was excited to meet New York designer Marissa Webb, and overjoyed to see women ranging from 18 to 50+ throw on their confident smile and strut the catwalk!

The models volunteered and a vast majority of the people attending the event donated their services, time and money to help Family and Children’s Services raise funds for abused and neglected children.

Family & Children’s Services (FACS) is an independent non-profit behavioral health and social services agency based in Elizabeth, NJ serving Union County and the surrounding areas with an emphasis on those most vulnerable, at-risk, disadvantaged and under-served. FACS counts on public donations and I was happy take part in the event.

Lori walking the runway too!! Gorgeous!

We had so much fun! Fashion should always be exciting, but super important and remarkable when using it for a good cause. If you would like to donate to FACS, please visit their site here.
