Casa, For YOU

Hello Flowers! Um…Nice to Meet You?

April 18, 2012

Not too long ago, I wrote a little about my dream for a Pink room, by no means is our sun room you see above really a pink room. We use this room for reading with the boys and a few toys are allowed to hang out in the corner. I threw some pink pillows I bought during our stay in Singapore and Jose bought me this floor poof pillow from Pier 1 not too long ago. Really…just thrown together. So yesterday I peaked in there early in the morning and surprise… pink flowers were peaking through our windows!!! Do you see them?!? So pretty…

Some of you may know we have only been out in the suburbs for about 8 months. These city kids are dealing with watering the lawn for the first time and pretty much haggling with landscapers. We know nothing about gardening, basically only know a rose from a tulip (Easter morning I discovered 2 red tulips!) and I personally wish I would have paid attention to my dad’s garden.

While the boys played outside today, I took a picture of the bush with the awesome pink flowers (that’s what I’m calling them). And as I drove around the neighborhood today, I noticed some of the neighbors have the same ones! They must all be blooming! So, I don’t know what type of flower it is and if someone can please tell me I would really appreciate it!!!
Can’t wait to see what else pops up around here in suburbia!!!

Your friend,

I have no idea what they are either but I love that color! I love your room in general. I even thought it was a stock photo or professional photo. I envy anyone who can decorate a room nicely lol.

I agree with Sleeping Mom, the room looks great and love the scenery…so peaceful. My husband knows a lot more about plants and flowers than I do. I just love taking close-up pictures of them jaja. I’m not 100% sure but these flowers look like they may be some variation of pink azaleas. I had them once in a pot but it didn’t survive a freeze we had one winter. I know they like acidic soil and they grow well in zones 5-9. Chicago is zone 5b. They are a beautiful bright spring color. Compliments to your room. I wish I was there relaxing and enjoying the scenery with a glass of wine!
