Fun and Done Weekend

April 15, 2013

boyssakura

Hi everyone! Did you have a nice weekend? Um…ours was…interesting. Let me just start off by saying that the sakura (aka cherry blossoms) bloomed this past week and once again we didn’t make it to Japan (wink) or Washington D.C. Maybe next year? It doesn’t matter because Jose’s sister and her husband were visiting from Indiana!! Woo whoo! We had an awesome time with them!

Here’s the breakdown of the weekend:

-Jose and I are not in our twenties (neither are they but they pull off long nights a lot better than us)! Friday night in NYC was so much fun! Instagram pics here.

-Does this ever happen to you? You try to make a joke but it ends up being insulting to someone? Yup, that happened to me and I’ve hated myself all weekend for it.

-Here’s another: Have you ever slammed your child’s fingers in the car DOOR?!?!?! $#!^!!!! This happened to Diego and I as we were getting ready to enter our church on Sunday morning!!!! $#!^!!!! I swore, I screamed! I cried. He was fine. Thank GOD! Literally. I bawled for the first 5 minutes of mass.

-What else? Oh, yeah how about this?: Do you ever work-out and then can’t stop eating? I’m talking about burgers (the best), wings, fries, hot dogs, beer and then chocolate because “oh, what the heck I already killed it today”? All WEEKEND.

So because I was busy putting my foot (and food) in my mouth all weekend and then slamming my first-born’s fingers…I don’t have a lot of reads. That’s all I wanted to say. Oh, and one of the links is to my post at Mommy Maestra. No shame. No shame.

Here’s to another week! Sipping wine now…

I loved Junot Diaz’s latest, This Is How You Lose Her and plan on attending this
Twitter party! NOTE: This Twitter Party has been POSTPONED in light of the Boston Marathon tragedy. It will most likely be rescheduled for NEXT WEEK.

Mexican Barbie: Positive review.

Mexican Barbie: Hilarious review.

I wish Marisol would become a a doll.

If you haven’t entered your school or public library in this GIVEAWAY…please do. Here is today’s post in the Blog Hop.

Shaking it off, hoping for forgiveness and putting it behind me…let’s have a great week (regardless of being tax day, meh).

I had just met this lady at swimming practice for my girls and she asked me if I had any names picked out for my baby (I was still preggers at the time) and I said “some people pick spanish names which sound horrible in english, such as….” and she started laughing and said “oh, that’s my daughters name” BIG opps!!! :-/

I accidentally poked my son’s eye and it was very late a night. He didn’t let me check it out. In the morning his eye was red. I felt terrible. I also had to write a note to his teacher so she wouldn’t think he had pink eye. By the way chocolate is my weakness too.

I closed the baño door on my then 14 month old! The worse part is it wasn’t until the door swung back, I saw her mouth wide open as the scream was ready to come full throttle and her finger was white with a dent! I was mortified and felt absolutely horrible. She was fine but I wasn’t due to guilt. Recently went on a trip and lost 6# from all the walking but now I’m still not working out & eating everything because chips fried in avocado oil with Chilean lime seemed healthy. LOL

I think we all have said a bad joke, I know I have. I hope Diego is better now, I once smashed my finger the same way and it was very painful :(. Mi mama siempre decia cuando nos lastimaba por accidente, ” tanto quiere uno a su hijo hasta que le saca un ojo” no se sí el dicho esta bien “dicho” pero es chistoso. I think eat like a pig every time I workout, and I end up feeling guilty, and think ill workout harder tomorrow… Yeah right !!
