Fall-like Weekend

September 16, 2013

Hi! How was your weekend? We had our friends here from Baltimore and were busy, busy, busy! We attended a New York Red Bulls match (they won!) and we went apple/peach/pumpkin picking! All the kids had a blast. Watching Jordi walk around with his brothers made my heart melt. Jose and I both noticed that he is getting so big, so quick. We have to make more of an effort to just sit and watch, with a clear mind, our children being kids, right? I cherish the weekends so much.

So last week was crazy and this week will be crazy as well. Balancing home, kids, and now this work is challenging. Although I have the amazing opportunity to do this from home, it is still hard work! But, I’m super happy with it all. ย I’m loving the direction of the blog and the contributions to others. If you are interested in seeing something you don’t see here, send me a message in any of the buttons there on the top right >>>>>. Love hearing from you and your ideas.

Here are your ย weekly links! Enjoy!

Betty, great post, loving all of the information and resources!

As far as life balancing tips are concerned, I’m still very much in the learning phase, even with two teens, it doesn’t seem to get easier, just a different sort of busy! Personally, I find that having my “handy-dandy notebook,” as Steve emphatically suggests to Blue, helps me organize and sort things out. This way, I don’t boggle my mind with to do lists or reminders, I keep it all in my notebook, it’s super satisfying to cross things out as I accomplish them.

As far as content I’d like to see on your blog, I’d really like to know how you got started in the blogging business. I’ve been dreaming for years on starting my own blog, I brainstorm blog names, blog post ideas and even have my own blog notebook where I keep all my ideas safely stored. Yet, I feel apprehensive. What was your journey like?

My biggest tips on balancing life is to simplify. If the weekends are starting to feel too hectic, I scale down and only do one activity that day. I’ve worked from home too, and I’ve learned to draw the line of when it’s too much. If it’s affecting relationships with partners and children, then it’s too much. Usually I’ll aim for a few hours max a day and then unplug ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Nina, I can barely come up for air. But my kids come first and at the end of the day it all works out! Naturally, my body and mind just tell me…enough. As you can see, responding to these comments have taken me a bit…jajaja! Thank goodness I’m semi-organized! xoxo

Thanks for including me in your links!

I wish I had balancing life tips, but it sounds like you got it under control. You’re pretty much super woman. I watched my nephew this weekend and I have no idea how moms do it all!

One of my biggest life balancing tips is learning to say no. I have always had a really hard time with that because I always want to please people but one cannot do it all. Just say no… sometimes ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Karla, Yes it has taken a bit to learn to say no. My plate is overflowing and I am grateful. Just yesterday I turned something down but I made sure to respond to the email with an apology and with graciousness. Important to not burn bridges either. Verdad? xoxo
