This post is in collaboration with OMJ.com and Exhale. However, all opinions and statements are my own.
I have been running a lot lately because I am preparing for a 5K but I have to be honest…if I only run for exercise I easily become very bored. I love being in a gym or a group class with other women. Those classes push me, inspire me and I always leave having made a new friend! When a local studio invited me to try out some of their classes, I just had to look into it. I was very excited to mix up my regular workout this month and because Exhale has been on my radar since I lived in NYC years ago, I had to go check it out.
Exhale is in Summit, NJ and so close to my home. I actually pass the town every day to and from my boys’ schools. With the three of them back in class, I have absolutely no excuses for not working out 3 to 4 times a week! The studio is in this tiny little street in downtown Summit and it’s beautiful, bright and airy. There are windows everywhere but I don’t mind if anyone is looking in from the street. If passers-by want to peek in, then they should see how hard Exhale instructors are working their clients!
I took the Core Fusion Extreme class last week. In this intense HITT (high intensity interval training) class we moved through five power stations (TRX, weights, gliders, plyo-box, and core balls) with mini active breaks in-between. We did two different movements which were 40 seconds each…twice. We then moved to the next station. After one circuit, we repeated the cycle all over again. The 50 minute class ended with a 3 minute plank. I died. But then I was ALIVE! I was so pumped and proud of myself for completing the class by giving it all I had. We had a wonderful and motivating instructor during at this CFX class. Liza worked out with us and was very supportive. When I saw drops of sweat hitting the floor while I worked on push-ups with gliders, I knew the hour at Exhale was so worth it.
I honestly can’t wait to go back tomorrow. I’m supposed to run 4 miles but I think I’ll get the same benefits with another Core Fusion Exteme class. Exhale also offers yoga and barre classes and I hear they are just as great. You can click HERE for the Summit schedule.
How have your workouts been lately? Have you checked out Exhale yet?
