How was your weekend? For us, this weekend was full of more birthday celebrations, lots of soccer, and a yearly block party. Our weekends are always social and because our family is far away, we embrace opportunities to see old friends and to make new ones!
The weekend activities also inspire me and I say perfect timing because next month is Santi’s 2nd birthday! Keep an eye out for that post because I’ll be using a lot of Pinterest ideas for a musical theme! I’m so excited! For now, here are some pictures from Diego’s 4th birthday back in our place in NYC. Enjoy!
The giant red velvet cupcake was from Crumbs. They also did the chocolate plaque (the only thing that didn’t turn out so well) and the mini cupcakes. YUM!
I bought the greenest arrangement I could find from Whole Foods. I wanted it to look like a tree. Not too bad, huh?
I decorated the table with Diego’s play dinosaurs. I bought tiny ones as cupcake toppers from Party City as well as all the dinosaur paper products.
I split the food to each side of the table for the “carnivores” and the “herbivores”. My vegetarian friends loved that idea! hee hee!
No need for an excuse to clean up the house and host people at our place! But birthday parties for my boys give me the chance to get creative and make their party extra special. All you need is a few extra props and time to think of something grand! Because I don’t have a lot of time to run around and throw something together, I give myself at least two months to slowly begin the process. You can imagine me doing the dishes and thinking all things “musical” for our next shindig!
