Creating Traditions

October 10, 2012

First trip to Wrightman Farms as a family of five and only the second time we take Diego apple picking! Last year, Santi was in the stroller and as we pushed along I was queasy with early symptoms of my third pregnancy. This year, my lower back was breaking as I “Bjorned” Jordi for 2.5 hours but It was SO worth it. We know this is something we want to do every Fall from now on. Jose and I had different traditions growing up and apple picking or visiting a pumpkin patch were just not part of those traditions. Not a problem though because it’s extra special to be doing this and many other things for the first time with our boys. Do you ever feel this way? Check out the pics!!

“I reach!”

Diego following instructions on how to pick an apple. If you know him, you know it had to be done just right!

“Where are you going without me???”

Finding the right pumpkins is serious business.

Are you also creating new traditions with your little family? Would love to know! Happy Wednesday everyone!

Your friend,

This is just up my alley! I was recently having this conversation with a co-worker on how I was not “raised that way!” She thought I was pulling her leg in shock that I had not enjoyed a rootbeer float until I was in high school or had a pb&j prior to 8th grade!

This year I indulged by purchasing a zoo membership and have taken them more times then what I went as a child! Next year I want to venture out and get a membership to one of the museums ๐Ÿ˜‰

    I <3 your blogs, sorry I don't comment often.

You guys look so cute in your fall attire! I swear here in California we’re still wearing shorts and tank tops ๐Ÿ™ Can’t wait for this heat to end.

Anyway, we haven’t gone apple picking but it looks fun! We do have a tradition of going to our pumpkin patch and picking out a pumpkin. We also make pumpkin treats all month, like pumpkin cookies and pumpkin bread, and of course pumpkin pie!

We have heard of that awful heat out West! Crazy!
I don’t love the cold but like this type of comfortable coolness and especially when the sun shines.
Nina, good for you on the pumpkin treats…I like to say I cook but not bake! Just like my mom!! I do make a killer butternut squash soup though for the season!
      Happy Fall!! xoxo

I’m so late here, but I just wanted to say I love these pictures. Your babies are beautiful! Fall is my favorite season! We’ve never gone apple picking but I have always wanted to include that into our Fall traditions.
