Boyfriend Jeans: Look Two

October 12, 2013

If only blogging looked this relaxed and chic all the time! I promise that 90% of the time it looks like this as I try to pull children off my computer! When I do get a chance to go to a coffee shop and write, I become so absorbed, I’m not always aware of what is going on around me. It never fails though to be pleasantly surprised by someone’s arrival for a cup to go. As my mama always taught me–be prepared. Just like  you can dress up your boyfriend jeans for a night out, you can quickly dress them up for a work meeting or a special lunch too.

One can look put-together by throwing on a nice jacket or blazer over an old (but cute) tee, along with the reliable boyfriend jeans…

Shoes are important as well! I’ve had this pair for over a year now and love the slight height in this super comfortable wedge.

I can’t even tell you how old my tote is now. I have used it for everything!! I used it as a diaper bag and it is now my favorite purse to throw my laptop in.

The jewelry is simple for a writing day at the coffee shop. No bracelets that jingle while I type today.

I’ve learned that everything one does should be done with care (especially if you are passionate about your work). Dressing the part should make you feel extra confident and ready. It also lifts your mood! If you want to be taken seriously at what you do, take yourself seriously without giving up your style and comfort.

I’m so happy jacket season is finally trickling down here in California. I stick to muted colors but I admire folks who can pull off the bright ones 🙂
