There are a lot of women I admire and there are a lot of moms out there that I want to be when I grow up. I’d like to have a regular post featuring fantastic mothers that capture the essence of womanhood, domestic divas and kick-ass world-changers. One of my closest friends, Allie Rosvold-Carpenter, is exactly that plus a mother to one year-old Charles, a designer and photographer. This mommy is one hot mommy and I want to share her on-line portfolio to prove how inspirational she is.
Allie and I met in 2005 when the company she worked for was designing and opening up the Chopra Center in New York City. I was hired to be an assistant manager for the center and as the only employee at the time, Allie and I quickly became close. Not too long after that, Jose and I moved to Asia for three years and when I came back Allie was waiting for me with open-arms, embracing Diego and I in the big, busy city of New York.
She is now a mother and she is patient, caring, loving and sweet. She has not changed. I wondered if things would be different after being up with Charles all night? Or if she would lose her cool if Charles tossed his lunch at her? But no. Allie is still Allie. No stress, no fuss, a super cool mom. She is so laid back that I instantly relax around them and notice the benefits of just letting things be with kids.
Allie has traveled to over 30 countries photographing everything! She has focused on Asia and Africa and ended up volunteering her time to orphanages in Kenya and South Africa. Allie has also raised thousands of dollars for a children’s malaria clinic in Uganda.
I needed a little inspiration today so I went to her website, Allie Rosvold Photography, and took in all the beauty she has captured in her images. Check it out!
I am so proud to call Allie my friend and I hope we remain friends in our lifetime.
